our mother's house

Our Mother's House is a non-profit, non-denominational residential housing program offered by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. Our Mission is to provide single mothers and their child(ren) a safe and secure environment in which to achieve self-sufficiency through education, vocational training and personal growth. Priority is given to mothers who are currently homeless or in another shelter. Applications are accepted without regard to race, ethnicity or religion. This is a two year program and applicants are accepted based on availability, need and a determination by the Caseworkers and the Program Director that this particular program will benefit the person applying. Available only to our residents, Children First runs an Early Head Start program on-site at Our Mother's House. These teachers, in addition to our volunteers, ensure that the children are cared for while their mothers are at school or work. Because of this program, the children gain the skills and abilities they need to enter the public school system. Our Mother's House was very fortunate to have a talented videographer create a short video of our program. We encourage you to click on the picture and learn more about us. Thank you Frank Unger for your talent and generosity.
